Holidays are here!

The holidays are finally here. Ironically, everyday has been extremely busy days for me though.

I got to catch up with many people whom I have not spoken to for a long time due to hectic school schedules. But the holidays have finally allowed me to meet up with them again!

Angela's birthday celebration was more of a catch up session where we were discussing about broken relationships and how getting into a relationship simply because you need one is just plain dumb. We were also laughing at the fact that girls' outfit were just getting lower in the top area and higher at their bottom parts.

Seriously, why do girls need to show so much skin? I believe in this sentence quoted by Carrie Underwood, she said "if I want to show some skin at the top, I would cover myself at the bottom." You do not need to flash everything all at one shot. Angela and I met Tessa at the Grand Hyatt Hotel and we took a photo with her! (:

My mom invited me to go with her to the Neways Talk regarding skincare. I gladly obliged even though I was somehow unwilling to because I was suppose to go to Jazreel's new house!!

But anyways, she treated me to Carousel Buffet at the Royal Plaza. Honestly, the buffet isn't much. Many magazines have recommended it, but my mom paid a hefty price of $40 (after a 10% DBS card discount) but the variety of food was quite disappointing.

After the buffet with my lovely mother, I rushed down to Emily Hill to meet Jazreel, Audrie and Angela. The place was a undiscovered gem to us all (:

After we departed from Emily Hill, Jazreel, Angela and I stayed on to try the new bakery and cafe that we just uncovered!

I finally found Mirabelle, which is a bakery that sells awesome french pastries, etc. A big bonus is that the owner of the shop actually speaks french.

The next day, I organized a old cell gathering which was awesome! I watched alice in wonderland with the old cell. HAHA Odelia and I acted as the morons of these posters.

Taby and I looked awesomely retarded in the mega-fied glasses. Seriously, who would actually purchase these huge glasses?!

Ant, Jo, Tabs and I decided to have a girls' day out, where we all decided to wear our dressy frocks out (:

Ant and Jo were late and Tabs decided to play this game where we would play scissor paper stone and the loser would have to wear whatever the winner picks for her.

Omg. Humiliating? Seriously. I lost the first 2 rounds and Tabs lost 5 rounds HAHA.

As usual, Taby would pick out the most colourful dress in the store and I was forced to pose in it. Gahhh.

The second dress resembled a getai dress? I was so reluctant to try it out, but when I eventually did, it wasn't that bad! I actually liked the dress. The satin material felt very soft against the skin. But I don't have the character to pull off this dress. Oh wells! (:

This is one of the dresses I picked out of Tabs (: I thought it looked awesome. The grey colour tube dress with golden floral prints and a cute ribbon in front suited Tabs really well.

Ant and Jo arrived and we went to watch Dear John, which was adapted from a story by Nicholas Sparks. He is one of my most favourite authors. I love his books, especially Message In The Bottle.

However, I felt that this movie was a little too draggy for my liking. It was sweet romance, but a little tad dramatic.

Awesomely awesome. I'm heading for my cycling trip with von and zhiying now~

Ciao! (:

A real hectic day

Today was an incredibly hectic day for me. I woke up early in the morning, intending to bake Chocolate Cigars for Angela as a surprise for her birthday. With last minute notice, my mom asked me to bake lemon cake with icing for her bible study friends!

Of course I couldn’t deny my mom the service, so I did.

The whole day didn’t go well. Not at all.

I knew that Angela loves love letters and chocolate cigars looked just like them. Just that they taste like softer crispier cookies but in a letter rolled up form.

It was so badddd… I couldn’t even roll up the flat sheet of biscuit without breaking them (either they were too soft) or cracking them (because they were too crispy?)

I didn’t know what to do. It was my first attempt and the recipe clearly stated bake 3 days beforehand which I missed out on.

I decided to give up since I already made Angela a photo collage present and a menu of ramen places she can go to.

The Photo Collage

Oh my goodness, I’m going to sidetrack a little with the photo collage story.

While I was doing her present, I don’t know how in the world I cut my finger sooo deep and not be able to notice the stinging pain in my finger. All I noticed was, “Hey, how come there’s so much ketchup on the ruler, table and photo? Since when did I eat ketchup?” I even paused for

10 seconds wondering if I ate ketchup today. Then I realized my finger was flowing down with a lot a lot a lot of blood. Seriously, I’m a stupid fool with the inability of feeling pain?

Anyways, back to today…

I focused on making my mom’s lemon cake with icing. So far so good, the cake smelt and looked amazing. But because of my stupid brain, I decided to open the cake tin when the cake hadn’t cooled down yet. This made the one side of the cake separate from the cake and it was stuck onto the cake tin.

I was really stunned. In order to redeem myself, I decided to cut the cakes into smaller slices.

Lemon Cake With Icing

While making the icing, I dropped the ceramic bowl onto the floor and the margarine and icing sugar fell onto the floor and I accidentally cut myself with the broken pieces that were smashed onto the floor. In the end, I had to make another batch of sugar icing for the cake...

It’s really frustrating when you are unable to do 2 of your most favourite things well. Baking and leading my cell.

Ugh.

Anyways, I used the side of the cake that was stuck onto the cake tin to make small little hearts for Angela. I hope its okay. It’s the best I could do.

The Little Cake Hearts

I hope everything goes well today! [:
